Historic Holyoke

Interested in historic Holyoke? This fine piece of research was created by Abbey Christman along with Amherst resident, Diana Krogmeier. Abbey and Diana are with the Center of Preservation Research - University of Colorado Denver. Holyoke is truly a community of "Pride & Progress". Take the historic walking tour  and you'll see for yourself Holyoke's continued "Pride & Progress". You'll find a lively downtown with its rebuilt historic movie theatre and shopping opportunities. Only a block away, the Phillips County Museum houses a rich collection of Indian and pioneer artifacts, farm equipment and restored buildings. The Heginbotham Library, a craftsman's style bungalow, built in 1917 is now the public library. The historic Burge Hotel, the Phillips County Courthouse, the Reimer-Smith Oil Station and the library are on the National Register of Historic Places. All across town you will see examples of a deep appreciation for history.
