Chamber Gala Dinner & Awards The Chamber's Annual Gala Dinner and Awards were held on Monday, Feb. 3rd at the Phillips County Event Center. The following were recognized: Melinda Kent, Employee of the Year; Lauren Bergner, Youth of the Year; Kyle Stumpf, Citizen of the Year; Nancy Colglazier, Citizen of the Years; Creative Traditions, Business of the Year; the Golden Plains Recreational Center/Peerless Theatre as the Chamber's STAR of the Year; and Tiffany Watson for her past service as the HCOC Board of Director's President. CHAMBER TIDBITS New Chamber Members The Holyoke Chamber is excited to announce that Connections For Independent Living and The Skillet are the most recent additions! Welcome & thank you for supporting the Chamber! Historic Holyoke Interested in historic Holyoke? This fine piece of research was created by Abbey Christman along with Amherst resident, Diana Krogmeier. Abbey and Diana are with the Center of Preservation Research - University of Colorado Denver. Holyoke is truly a community of "Pride & Progress". Take the historic walking tour and you'll see for yourself Holyoke's continued "Pride & Progress". You'll find a lively downtown with its rebuilt historic movie theatre and shopping opportunities. Only a block away, the Phillips County Museum houses a rich collection of Indian and pioneer artifacts, farm equipment and restored buildings. The Heginbotham Library, a craftsman's style bungalow, built in 1917 is now the public library. The historic Burge Hotel, the Phillips County Courthouse, the Reimer-Smith Oil Station and the library are on the National Register of Historic Places.
